Discipling the Nations: Seven Influential Sectors of Society Hold the
Key The
Nations Called: Theology of The Nations and Their Redemption - a
trilogy of books about God's heart for the redemption of cities and
nations Although this is to Canadians, perhaps you will also find it helpful in praying for your nation... May God have mercy on us all! And may you all experience Christmas with IMMANUEL this season... Many blessings! CALLING THE NATION BACK TO GOD IN THE FIRST WEEK OF 2005 From: TOGETHER National Newsletter
12-17-2004 The desperate need of the hour is to hear the heart of our Master. We do not need the latest, greatest strategy that the best of human minds have thought up. We must also abandon strategies that we have been following that obviously don't have the endorsement of heaven. No more wasting time! As I have challenged the various local groups that I am a part of, our greatest priority must be to seek the face of the Lord together until we hear a clear direction from Him. It's time for Jesus to lead our corporate efforts. It's time for leaders to wait in His presence until we have discerned the mind of the Lord for our cities and our regions. (That probably means setting some quality time aside to come together and listen in one accord, having set aside our own agenda's and previous assumptions.) Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it. So our ultimate prayer must be, "Lord Jesus, come and build your House. Help us to follow Your blueprints. Help us to build it Your way. For in the end we want it to be a house that You would be willing to dwell in with all Your glory." Richard Long (Numerous leaders in the nation have sensed that we need to use the first week of the new year to cry out to God for our nation. Val Dodd from Burloak Christian Fellowship has created this prayer of repentance based on Nehemiah 9 and Daniel 9 for posting on the websites of several national ministries. ><>RL) Calling The Nation Back To God "Blessed Be The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" O may Your glorious name be blessed
and exalted above all blessings and praise! You alone are Lord. You
have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their hosts, the
earth and all that is in it, the seas and all that is in them. You give
life to all of them and the heavenly host bows down before You. You
are the Lord God. Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness, do not let all this hardship seem insignificant before You, which has come upon us, our Prime Minister, our governments, our prophets, our ministers and priests, our fathers, and on all of Your people. However, You are just in all that
has come upon us; for You have dealt faithfully with us, but we have
acted wickedly. For our leaders, our Prime Minister and ministers, our
fathers have not kept Your law or paid attention to Your commandments
and Your admonitions with which You have admonished them. But they,
in their own kingdom, which by Your great goodness which You gave them,
with the broad and rich land which You set before them, did not serve
You or turn from their evil deeds. Behold, we are slaves today, and
as to the land which You gave to our Fathers to eat of its fruit and
its bounty, behold, we are slaves on it. O Lord, in accordance with
all of Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away
from 'this Nation, Canada,' because of our sin and the iniquities of
our fathers..... Your people have become a reproach to all those around
us. So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your servants and to their
supplications, and for Your sake, O Lord, let Your face shine on 'this
Land Canada'. O my God, incline Your ear and hear!
Open Your eyes and see our desolation's... for we are not presenting
our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, But
on account of Your great compassion and mercy. O Lord, hear! O Lord , Forgive! O
Lord listen and take action! For Your own sake O my God do not delay
because Your people are called by Your name. And We prayed to the Lord
our God and confessed and said, "Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome
God, who keeps His covenant and loving kindness to those who love Him
and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted
wickedly, and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and
ordinances. Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets,
who spoke in Your name to , our Prime Minister and leaders, and ministers
and priests, and all the people of the land". Open shame belongs
to us, O Lord, to our Leaders and our Fathers, because we have sinned
against You. To the Lord our God , we are the people , whom You have
redeemed by Your Own precious Son. Now Lord let Your ear be attentive
to the prayer of Your servants who delight in revering Your name. Give
your servants success today by granting us favour in Your eyes. Amen!!!!! (Nehemiah 9:5-7a,9:33-35a, 9:35b-36,
Dan 9:16-19,9:4-6,9:8-10 Neh 9:3,1:10-11) .
