HOUSE CHURCHES
SHARING HOME LIBRARY RESOURCES
---------------------------------------------------------------
Many of you likely have libraries of helpful resource books, tapes or videos,
etc. in your home collections, which may or may not get used very often.
If so, you might wish to consider the possibility of organizing your library in such a way that it could also benefit others in the Body of Christ locally by being accessible to others in your house / simple church, your house church network, with ministries and other believers/interested friends.
Resources to aid in dealing with people of specific religious groups, various intercultural, cross cultural, contextualization, etc. issues, for example, could be very helpful for those reaching out cross-culturally in the marketplace or preparing to go out internationally.
But that is only one example, of course, of many topics which could be very helpful to those around you if you make them available.
You would need to have:
-----------------------------------
+ your name/contact info in/on each book/resource that you would be prepared
to make available to others
+ have either a database or list on a regular document where you have all
of your books, tapes, videos, etc. listed alphabetically or according to topic/theme,
etc. which you can then make available to interested parties via email or
on your web site
+ have some type of sign-out and follow-up system so that you can keep track
of your books/resources which you have loaned to others
+ develop a system of checking back regularly to have your items returned
to you if the person that has borrowed them has forgotten
If you are in the Lower Mainland of BC and are interested
in potentially sharing your resources with others in the Fraser Valley House
Church Network, you could either:
+ just let me know and I could include your email address in the next update,
saying that you are open to doing so, and then interested parties could contact
you directly about specific resources you may have; or
+ you could email me a listing of the resources you have available to loan
to others and then I could include that, along with your email address, in
a future update.
If you are not in the Fraser Valley/Lower Mainland, but would like to offer to share your library resources with those in your region, I will be happy to include them in the future edition of the CHCRN Newsletter so folks in your region can connect with you on that.
Thank you for your considerations in this regard...
