It will be moderated by Frederick LaGrange - Fredlag@worldnet.fr - and will be devoted to the discussion of Arabic, Persian and other Middle Eastern Musics. Here is a quote from the welcome message:
Arabic-Music is a moderated list formed in order to provide an electronic forum devoted to the discussion of Arabic, Turkish, and Persian musics, ancient and modern, folkloric, learned or mainstream commercial. The list is aimed at academic searchers in the field of ethnomusicology as well as amateurs. Anything that concerns music is an appropriate topic for discussion. We welcome all contributions in that area, including announcements of conferences and book publication, announcement and callings for papers,
